At CCATS we view every client both as an individual and as part of a family unit. Just as our assessment process includes the client’s family, our therapeutic interventions are complemented by a range of family support programmes. We believe that changes in behaviour of one or more family members may alter the interaction patterns and the behaviours of others in the family; CCATS support workers are trained to help families adjust to these changes in a positive way.
Support workers are also trained to offer parenting education (course accredited by the Trust for the Study of Adolescence) and provide support and advice on a range of topics. Throughout all our family support programmes, our principal focus is the family’s home and community where our aim is to empower the family to feel more comfortable and in greater control of their environment.
