Kirsty Alderson (MSc Forensic Psychology, BSc Psychology & Neuroscience) is a Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist at CCATS. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and the Division of Forensic Psychology.
Her role involves undertaking psychological assessment and therapy with clients who present with various difficulties, including trauma, child sexual exploitation, harmful sexual behaviour and aggression. She also delivers training packages to professionals and foster carers in the following areas: understanding and working with harmful sexual behaviour, child sexual exploitation and trauma.
Kirsty has previously worked for HM Prison Service for over nine years. Throughout this time she was been involved in psychological assessment and intervention with sexual and violent offenders, and delivering both individual and group intervention with forensic clients.
Kirsty is currently a PhD research student at the University of Central Lancashire, conducting research in the area of childhood sexual exploitation, including multiple victimisation and resilience.
