Person-Centred Counselling

Person-centred counselling places you at the centre of the therapeutic relationship. It is based on an understanding that you are your own best authority in terms of recognising experiences.

At CCATS, we provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment to help you recognise your own capacity for self-healing and growth. We understand that working towards more positive outcomes can be challenging. Person-centred approaches acknowledge that over time, a person’s identity and beliefs can be replaced by the expectations of others, which means there is little opportunity to focus on personal growth.

We adopt an empathic approach that is based on principles of unconditional positive regard and transparency towards clients. Sessions typically involve the free exploration of thoughts and feelings in a confidential manner, without fear of rejection or categorisation. Encouraged and guided by our experienced therapists, it is through this process of exploration that you may experience positive change and are able to find solutions to your difficulties.
